We have to cancel the 14s practice on December 9.  We have lost the use of Castle-X that night.  The 14s will practice at Castle-X on Tuesday December 7, from 6PM to 8PM and then again at Castle-X on Sunday December 12 from 2PM to 4PM.

Picture Day

Thursday March 4, 2010 will be a picture day for the Ridgecrest Starlings Volleyball Club

We will be taking pictures of the entire club, all four teams and the individual players at 8 PM that night.

The 14s teams will leave their practice at 7:45 and travel over to the Kerr McGee Center where they will join the 15s and 16s teams.

14s Teams - We need a couple parent volunteers from each team to transport the teams from their practice at Castle-X at 7:45 to the Kerr McGee Center.  Let your coach know if you can help out.  Everyone will pick their players up at the Kerr McGee Center at 8:45.

15s/16s Teams - We will take pictures starting at 8:00 PM then both teams will practice afterwards until 10 PM.

Everyone - Come dressed as you would for a tournament - jerseys, shorts, socks, kneepads, court shoes, sweat pants, sweatshirts.  Bring both Jerseys.  All teams will start out wearing purple.  Be prepared to change jerseys.  Team Captains will let your players know which shorts or socks to wear if appropriate.

See you all at the Kerr McGee Center on Thursday - Bring your smiles.

Calendar Changes

The calendar has been updated:

Added practice for both 14s teams at castle-X on Feb 4th. We originally had not been allowed to practice this day, but things changed. So the 14s will practice at their normal day and time at Castle-X

Removed practice for the 15s and 16s teams on Feb 7th. Castle-X has a Superbowl party on the 7th so we will not be able to practice on that day.

Here is the schedule for the Starlings Volleyball Club for the next two weeks.

Tuesday Dec 22 - Open Volleyball - Castle-X  6:00 - 8:30 PM  This is an optional open volleyball session for any Starlings player who would like to come play some volleyball.

Sunday Dec 27 - 14s Practice - Castle-X  noon - 2:30 PM. Both Purple and Gold teams.
Sunday Dec 27 - 16s Practice - Castle-X  2:45 - 5:30 PM
Sunday Dec 27 - 15s Practice - Castle-X  5:30 - 8:00 PM
If you are going to be out of town or have plans with your family you are excused from this practice - enjoy your Christmas holiday.  If you are in town and avaialble please attend these practices.

Tuesday Dec 29 - Open Volleyball - Castle-X  6:00 - 8:30 PM  This is an optional open volleyball session for any Starlings player who would like to come play some volleyball.

Sunday Jan 3 - High Desert Starlings Volleyball Tournament - Victorville CA.  Details will be sent out later (when we get them)  But plan on the tournament starting around 8 AM and playing until late into the afternoon.  This will be an all day event.  If you will not be able to attend this even please let you coach know as soon as possible so proper line-up changes can be made.

Starting the first week of January both 14s teams will practice at Castle-X from 6 - 8:00 PM on Tuesday and Thursday night.  The 15s and 16s teams will practice on Monday and Thursday nights at the Kerr McGee Center from 8:15 - 10 PM.  This schedule will be pretty regular through March 4.

15s Parents and Players

During the basketball season our practices at Castle-X cannot start until 6:30 because Murray basketball will be practicing in the gym. So practices were scheduled for 6:30 – 8:30 PM. On days that the 15s practice at Castle-X starting at 6:30 PM I would like the players to be there at 6:00 PM for team meetings. 

This extra 30 minutes will give us time to talk and teach. We will be able to discuss team stuff, volleyball stuff (offenses, defenses, skills, etc) without cutting into our court time. I would like to start this on Tuesday Dec 8, 2009.

The girls will be given time to change during this 30 minutes so they won’t need to be there earlier than 6:00 PM for that

We have had another change in schedule for June 9. We have swapped the 13s and 14s practice times for that night. The 13s will now practice from 6 to 8 PM at CastleX then the 14s will practice from 7:30 - 9:30 on the 9th.

Practice on June 11 - The 14s and 16s scrimmage will move to 7:30 PM - 9:30 PM this night at CastleX. The 13s will practice from 6PM - 7:30PM at CastleX.
