The SCVA has declared new minimum tryout dates for the upcoming club season.

For U14s and under the earliest tryout date is October 6, 2012.

For U15s and above the earliest tryout date is October 7, 2012.

The earliest date that a club may accept a commitment letter and deposit from a player is 4:00 PM Thursday October 18th 2012.

The earliest day that a club may begin practicing is November 26, 2012.

The Ridgecrest Starlings Volleyball Club prefer to avoid any interference with the local high school and middle school volleyball seasons.  So we will not be holding tryouts on those dates.

Tryouts/Informational meeting for the upcoming 2013 season of the Ridgecrest Starlings Volleyball Club will be held the week of November 12th.  Days and Times are still TBD.  As soon as we know the day and time and place we will post it on the front page of our website and on our Facebook page.

All members of our 2012 teams will be e-mailed about the tryouts.  If you want to receive an e-mail notification about tryouts - send an e-mail to director@ridgereststarlings.com and the director will add you to his e-mail distribution list.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from the Ridgecrest Starlings Volleyball Club.  We are pretty much taking two weeks off for Christmas and New Years.  Not because we don’t want to practice.  But our main practice facility is closed for the next two weeks.

Remember, any of our players who want to blow off a little steam we will have open volleyball on Tuesday (tonight) 12/20, from 6-8 at Castle-X.  Then again next Tuesday (12/27) and Thursday (12/29).  Practices will resume on Tuesday January 3, 2012.  Check the online calendar for time and place.

The 2012 Season for the Ridgecrest Starlings will start with a kick off meeting and tryouts at the Kerr McGee Center at 100 California St, Ridgecrest on:

November 14, 2011

6:15 PM - 7:00 PM Kick-off Meeting

7:00 PM - 9:00 PM Tryouts

If needed there will be a second or additional tryout on Tuesday November 15th, from 7:00 - 9:00 PM at the Kerr McGee Center.  Players will be assigned to a team in time for their first team practices on Thursday November 17th.

All players and parents should attend.  Every player will need to submit a signed USA volleyball waiver and a Ridgecrest Starlings Waiver before being allowed to tryout.  These forms will require a parent or guardian signature.

Additionally, all players will have to complete a USA volleyball Medical Release form, A Ridgecrest Starlings Player information form, and a Handbook acceptance form before being assigned to a team.

Membership in the Ridgecrest Starlings Volleyball Club is open to any girl who:

1. meets the USA Volleyball/SCVA age requirements
2. wants to be a committed member of a competitive volleyball team.
3. wants to learn to be a better teammate, better volleyball player and better athlete.
4. along with her parents is willing to make the significant time and life-style commitments required to become a club volleyball player.
5. is selected to play on a team in open tryouts (if such tryouts become necessary.)
